Can you do anything about your case if you found out your attorney did not fully look into all possibilities to help and not just take the deal and not do what you ask them to do?

The lawyer did not even read the case file on me he asked for a continuance and he would not do anything but what the prosecution suggested. He said that anything he does besides taking the deal would be bad for me. He was hard to get a hold of by phone not retuning my calls. Is there anything I can do I need help anything you can suggest would be nice.
